#1Most-cited clinic in its Denver TRT and hormone answer set

16High-intent patient questions audited across three engines

An independent, physician-led hormone, weight-loss, and peptide clinic in Denver, competing for visibility against national, venture-funded telehealth brands with far larger budgets.

Patients no longer research their care the way they did two years ago. Instead of scrolling ten blue links they ask ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Google’s AI directly: what is the best TRT clinic in Denver, where can I get physician-supervised weight loss near me. Those answers name a handful of providers, and being named is the new page one.

The brief was more patients from search. Our first answer was that the search worth winning had stopped being a page of links.

Search stopped being a list of links

If the answer engines do not mention you, you are invisible at the exact moment a patient is deciding where to go. That is a hard place to compete when the category is crowded with national telehealth brands spending millions on content and links. R2 is the opposite: one independent clinic, a local team, a Denver footprint.

Three things made it harder still.

What we did

We did not try to out-spend the national brands. We made R2 the clearest, most trustworthy, most machine-readable source on its own subjects, so that when an engine assembles an answer about Denver hormone or weight-loss care, R2 is the obvious clinic to cite.

Every piece was published under the clinic’s own name and approved before it went live. The programme runs on the same flat monthly fee as any other MBC plan.

“Answer engines do not reward the biggest ad budget. They reward the clearest signal of real, credentialed expertise.”

The outcome

Sixteen high-intent patient questions spanning TRT, medical weight loss, peptide therapy, and women’s hormone care were run through the three leading answer engines. ChatGPT mentions R2 in 12 of the 16 and cites it with a link in 11. Perplexity mentions it in 10 and cites it as a go-to Denver clinic in 9. Google Gemini, the newest of the three, mentions it in 4.

For the best TRT or men’s hormone clinic in Denver, R2 is not merely included: it is the most-cited clinic in the entire answer set, with more than 15 citations across TRT and hormone answers. Medical weight-loss presence and Gemini are the two open frontiers, and both are mapped and measured in the monthly audit.

The company it keeps

R2’s citations land in the same answers as the largest names in men’s health. In Denver-area questions it was cited more often than the national chains it competes with — Gameday Men’s Health, Ageless Men’s Health, and Low T Center — and alongside established regional players including Forum Health, Denver Hormone Institute, Rocky Mountain Men’s Clinic, and Cunningham Clinic.

A single local clinic is now the most-cited answer in a space built for national brands, because it became the best-structured source rather than the loudest one.

Why it worked

The formula is not complicated and it is not proprietary: explicit physician authorship, machine-readable structure, real depth on your own subjects, and monthly measurement instead of assumption.

That is the opportunity for any local business right now. AI search is still open. The providers who structure for it become the default answer before the category gets crowded.

Three things made it harder still.

  • National brands own the volume — endless publishing and enormous domain authority
  • Classic SEO was no longer enough after a 2026 core update reshaped organic results
  • Healthcare carries a higher bar — engines favour clear clinical authorship and verifiable credentials

  • Physician authorship made explicit — verifiable “Medically reviewed by Erik Natkin, DO” bylines on the service pages, backed by structured reviewedBy Physician data
  • Structured data engines can read — MedicalWebPage, Physician, and FAQPage schema across the core service pages
  • An AI crawl map — a published llms.txt that points AI crawlers straight to the clinic’s most important pages
  • Depth where it counts — hormone and weight-loss content built out to the depth that wins inclusion in AI answers
  • A monthly AEO audit — a recurring check of exactly where R2 is mentioned and cited across ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, and Google AI Overviews
