Strata is an architecture practice for people who think a wall should outlive its mortgage. We design in raw concrete, high-altitude light, and long silence — houses, studios, and civic rooms that weigh something.

Mass is a material.
So is restraint.

Every Strata project begins as a section drawing — how thick, how high, where the sun enters at winter solstice. Ornament is whatever the formwork leaves behind. If a detail can't survive fifty years of weather and three changes of owner, it doesn't get built.

Method

03 STEPS · NO SHORTCUTS
STEP — A

Walk the ground

We spend a day on site before we draw a line. Wind, water, neighbors, noise. The land votes first.

STEP — B

Draw the section

Plans lie; sections don't. We design the building's weight and light before its rooms.

STEP — C

Pour once

Concrete forgives nothing. Every formboard, tie-hole, and joint is decided before the truck arrives.
